A Microsoft Windows update that began deploying to customers on December 12, 2017, caused an issue with the Tournament Director application. The error manifests itself in a number of ways, including messages like "Access Denied", or "mPatch undefined", or "The default language catalogs could not be loaded". The Tournament Director application may continue functioning, or it may exit during startup due to this error.
Version 3.4.2 of the Tournament Director application was released December 14, 2017, with a fix this issue. Please download it from the link above.

Windows Media Player 7 or later
Windows Media Player does not need to be your primary (default) media player, but it must be installed in order for Tournament Director sounds to play. Since Windows Media Player is installed with Windows, unless you intentionally uninstalled it, you've probably already got it.
1024x768 screen size or greater
Although smaller screen sizes will work, the Tournament Director is designed for a minimum screen size of 1024x768.
