Help Me / Display "Next Game" on the screen
« on: July 10, 2022, 10:32:04 PM »
Setting up a tourney with multiple games, rotating each round.
What is the best way to display "next Game" on the screen?

Suggestions / Player Images
« on: February 28, 2020, 02:41:45 PM »
I like the new option of the round player images displayed  :)
Seems when I add a player image all I can do is use the entire image. Most of my player images are images of them at the table and sometimes with other players in the same image. Is it, or could it be, possible to load player images and be able to zoom, and/or move the image around to only use the part of the image I want? Currently I have to take all my player images and resize/crop them in another app.

Scratch that, it looks like it did actually adjust each players points accumulated for the tournament.

Thank You Very Much for the help!!

Awesome thank you for the quick reply, that worked perfect for both players and I probably would not have found that on my own.

One additional question regarding the points formula for the tournament -
It looks as though me changing these didn't change either players points totals. Will I need to keep the manual adjustment for both, or is there some refresh that will take the "+ Add-on" and "-Add-on" into consideration for these two players?

Thanks
Bill

Help Me / Add or Subtrack Add-on after tourney is complete

I did not notice I assigned an add-on to the wrong player until the tourney was over.
I need to add the add-on to the correct player and remove it from the incorrect player.
I see where I can adjust my points formula, which is affected by the add-on, but I do not see how to remove or add one.

I do not recall having these gaps in version 3.4, I only noticed them with the Beta
What do I edit to get rid of this?

Sure.  I assume you are awarding points in each tournament using the "Points for Playing" field.  By doing that, you can see how many points each player has accumulated just by running Stats and looking at the Points column, as they are summed automatically.

To calculate TOC chip stack, use one of the Overall Score formulas, and use a formula like this:

points + 1000 * winCount + 500 * hits

AWESOME, Thank You.

You can define up to 5 Overall Scores formulas.  By default only the "Overall Score" column is displayed, which shows the results of the Overall Score formula.  But you can also define an Overall Score 2 formula, an Overall Score 3 formula, an Overall Score 4 formula, and an Overall Score 5 formula.  Those will show up in the Overall Score 2 column, Overall Score 3 column, Overall Score 4 column, and Overall Score 5 column, respectively.  You will need to enable those columns.  To do that, press the Preferences button on the Stats tab and select "Edit Columns".

Thank You for the explanation. I was still looking at the "Points" field in my data and not looking at the Overall Score field. Newb Mistake

Sounds like this is exactly what the TD does.  The "Stats" tab will compute statistics over all of your tournaments, including points and rakes.  If you want to divide your tournaments up into seasons (or any other way), you simply create a Profile on the Stats tab that collects tournaments fitting your specified criteria, then run Stats.

The chips stacks in play for the season end Tournament of Champions are accumulated by -
375 per point + 1000 per win + 500 per kill(hit)

Any fields in TD to use to calculate these stacks based on those stats?

Yes, easy to do, but specifics depend on how you're scoring your players.  If it is simply by points earned in the tournament, then you just set the Overall Score formula (in the Stats Profile on the Stats tab) to something like:

sum(top(10, listPoints))

When inserting this formula should the formula show up in the "Create Overall Scores using Formulas" text box?
I input this code in the stats profile I am using, testing across 4 games played. Doesn't matter if I change the variable to 1, 2, 3, or 4 it still shows the total scores for all 4 games. And it just shows "1 Formula" in that text box.

Newby question.
I have version 3.4.3 and am getting all my set-ups the way I want/need/like them. I assume loading this beta will load over the top of 3.4.3 and all my edits/saves/etc will still be the same and in the same places?

At a re-buy Tournament very player can take only one Re-buy. I set this at the Tournament settings. But TD still ask if the Player who took already one Re-buy want to take one more. In the old Version i only need to click no at the first time and TD didn't ask again.

FWIW I would also vote for this screen to NOT come up every time if a player is ineligible to re-buy.

I think this is a stretch for TD to have anything to do with, but in managing my league I am trying to have TD do everything without having to manually manage excel spreadsheets so i'll ask anyways.

Throughout our season we rake $$ from buy-ins to be paid out to the top players who qualify for a season end freeroll. The freeroll chip stacks are determined by the points accumulated throughout the season. I currently manage everyone points accumulated to chip stack ratio in excel.

Any way of using TD to do anything like this for a season?
