Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Built In Screens

Is it possible to create an own info screen, f.e. for next tournaments?

Sure.  There is at least one example of this in the built-in layouts.  I think the "Blue and Green" layout has a pre- and post-tournament screen.  They use the various tokens found on the Rules tab to display information.

A personal license may be installed on more than one PC at a time (up to 3 at a time in fact).  But the restrictions are the license holder must own the PCs (you can't share your license or install it on a friend's PC), and you're not supposed to use it on more than one PC at a time.  The terms are supposed to support the situation you've described, for the most part.  Many people (myself included) like to set things up on one PC (a desktop PC for example) and then use a laptop or another PC to run the tournament.

I'm afraid not.  There's no way to specify the table name alignment.

Also, is there anyway to make the background on the layout screen a color.  I cannot see my cells because the text is white.

On the Layout tab press the Preferences button.  This opens the Layout Tab Preferences window.  In the Preview Style section, uncheck the box that says Stylize preview.

Sure.  Use the <expression> layout token.  This token allows you to display the results of a formula calculation.  An example:

<expression text="chipCount / bigblind / playersLeft" format="number" roundOff="true">

The expression token has a number of options.  You should edit it in the Token Builder window and select the options you want.

If you're just trying to keep the chip count correct, you can add the chips by setting the amount of chips added in the Adjust chip count by input on the Game tab.

Help Me / Re: Seating Dealers and Other Players

Assuming two tables of 10 seats, your dealers would sit at seats 5 and 6 of each table:

- Right-click on each seat except the "dealer seats" (seats 1 through 4, then 7 through 10, on each table) and select "Make seat unavailable".
- Buy-in your dealers and make sure no other players are bought-in.
- Press "Seat Players" on the Tables tab.
- Press the "Clear" button on the Tables tab.  Check only the box that says "Make available all seats marked unavailable".  Then press OK.  (Alternatively, right-click on each seat and select "Make seat available".)
- Right click on each dealer and select "Lock [name] in seat".
- Buy-in remaining players and seat them.  Either check "Auto seat" on the Buy-in window or once they are bought in press the "Suggest Movement" button.

Yes.  It is using a random number generator.  So there is no "bias", even if it seems like it.  Of course, we could get into a very long discussion about computers and whether or not they can generate actual "true" random numbers, but for the purposes of this discussion the answer is yes.

Yes, using the ID works.  Each player also has an internal ID assigned to them.  You can use that in the conditions as well.  If you check the "Show all fields" box on the Game Player or Database Player windows you'll see the player's Internal ID.

Your suspicions are correct.  You have to press the Refresh Stats button and select a profile.

You can do this, to a certain degree, using the <expression> layout token.  For example:

<expression text="defaultBuyinChips / bigBlind" format="number" precision="2">

However, the bigBlind variable refers to the current big blind.  There's no way to specify the big blind for a particular round (you noted the first big blind).

I assume you mean to add the number of chips of a color that players receive when buying-in.  You can do that by adding the counts attribute to the <chips> token.  For example:

<chips size="100" columns="1" values="right" counts="right">

Use the Token Builder to see all the options.  As for the total value for each color, I'm afraid there's no attribute for that.

The other way would be to use the Auto Seat feature.  On the buy-in dialog, you can check "Auto seat", which will randomly seat the player at any open seat.  It does not try to balance the tables in any way.

Suggestions / Re: Placement of Dealer Button Auto Balance

Sorry for the long hiatus!  It's been a really busy Christmas season this year.

So obviously there's no way today to change the seating algorithm.  Currently, the algorithm uses at its heart a sorting algorithm with a number of "biases", such as which tables you've designated as first to collapse or last to collapse, or the number of moves a player has already made.  Additionally, IF you've specified where the dealer button is, it will use that as its strongest bias.  If I recall correctly, it will try to move a player from one table to another and place them in the same seat with respect to the dealer button, so that they are not penalized (which is generally true unless the tables have a different number of players, but that's an unavoidable consequence).

Adding in other seating algorithms should be possible.  I'll just have to dig back into the seating algorithm, which is something I've been reluctant to touch for fear of breaking something.  Truth is I need to add more tests to hedge against breaking it.

If I'm not mistaken, you're describing two different methods.  Do the official TDA rules describe these?

Started looking into this and got distracted and forgot all about it.  So sorry!

I took a second look and I don't see this issue.  I followed the same steps as I posted, and I see the adjustment in both Normal view and Single field view.  Here's a screen shot from Single field view with the "Total Winnings" field selected:

The tournament I added is called "Stats-Adjustment-Tournament", and I adjusted the player's winnings by a million to make it obvious.  You can see a column for that tournament, and that the Sum and Average columns both factor in the adjustment.

What field are you selecting in Single field view?
